2021-2022

Robotic Arm

1st Year Project

During our first semester project, we made a simple prototype of Robotic Arm.

  • Designed and constructed a robotic arm from wood, integrating stepper and servo motors, as part of a first-year engineering project.
  • Simulated and tested the control circuit using a 555 timer in Proteus software, gaining hands-on experience in circuit design and motor control.
  • Documented the project with a 20-page final report, including detailed design analysis and optimal placement strategies, strengthening skills in technical writing and mechanical design.

2022-2023

Three Floor Elevator System Prototype

2nd Year Project

In this project, we made a simple prototye for an elevator system.

  • Designed and simulated a basic three-floor elevator system, employing a 12V DC motor through circuit anlaysis in Proteus software.
  • Practiced and honed practical skills in soldering and working with electronic components, including flip-flops, latches, relays, and limit switches, ensuring reliable system performance.
  • Gained foundational knowledge in motor control and digital electronics, strengthening practical engineering skills crucial for real-world applications.

2023-2024

Refurbishment of an Induction Motor with Condition Monitoring

3rd Year Project

Condition Monitoring of induction motor on real time current and temperaure data.

  • Refurbished and modeled a three-phase induction motor to achieve 92% efficiency using ANSYS Electronics Software, optimizing performance and validating results in accordance to the motor's nameplate specifications.
  • Executed the rewinding process for the motor, gaining hands-on experience with three-phase motor rewinding and enhancing technical skills in motor maintenance.
  • Developed and implemented a real-time condition monitoring system using an ESP32 microcontroller, integrating PT-100 temperature sensors and SCT-013 current sensors to display motor data on the ThingSpeak platform.
